EBIO welcomes a new member to the team!

We are thrilled to announce that Wiktoria Kowalczyk, an international exchange student from Łódź University of Technology, has recently joined the EBIO project team here at the University of Twente. This project aims to investigate the effect of membranes on electrooxidation, a process that has important applications in the field of bio-based materials. Wiktoria was born in Poland but raised in England where she moved at age 6, recently she moved back to Poland for University.

Wiktoria brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the project, having studied Advanced Bio-based and Bio-inspired Materials at her home university. Her field of study focuses on mimicking biological processes through engineering, as well as making existing processes more bio-based. Her background in this area makes her a valuable addition to the EBIO project team, and we are delighted to have her on board. During her time with us, Wiktoria will be participating in the EBIO project, which focuses specifically on the electrooxidation of pyrolysis oil components. This process is an important step in the creation of bio-based materials, as it helps to break down complex organic molecules into simpler compounds that can be used to create new materials. By investigating the effect of membranes on this process, we hope to gain a better understanding of how to optimize the electrolysis process for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.

Wiktoria’s enthusiasm and dedication to the project are evident in her eagerness to contribute to its scientific outcomes. She is excited to be a part of the EBIO team and we look forward to seeing how this influences her contributions to the project. In addition to being a part of the EBIO project, Wiktoria is willing to learn many analytical techniques at the University of Twente. This will allow her to gain valuable hands-on experience that will be incredibly helpful when she returns to her home university, where she will be required to create and run her own research project. In conclusion, we are delighted to welcome Wiktoria to the EBIO project team and look forward to seeing the contributions she will make to this exciting research endeavor. We are confident that her experience and enthusiasm will prove invaluable in our quest to optimize the electrooxidation process for the creation of bio-based materials.
